Shedding Light on Learning with Miss Mallory
Engaged Learning with first and second graders
We engaged our senses outdoors with Four Winds. We looked and listened to our surroundings using these awesome toilet paper roll binoculars!
After harvesting carrots planted by last years 1st and 2nd graders, it was near to impossible not to compare their sizes and shapes. Having been through an early freeze or two, they tasted delicious and sweet!
We harvested, topped, and boxed the carrots from the raised bed! Chef will process them for healthy snacks and stew soon!
We headed to the trail to soak in our beautiful surroundings while discussing trail etiquette, safety, and behavioral expectations while learning outside.
Holy smokes, this was an incredible performance worth attending! What fun to have such a variety of entertaining acts under on roof! The kids giggles were entirely contagious as performers coaxed audience participation of varying degrees.
We dissected lava beans and discovered all its parts. Afterwards, we created and labeled scientific drawings!
Larry erected the hoop house structure for us over the summer! We will look forward to extending our growing seasons and teaching life cycle lessons inside it's protection!
